April 7 (Sun) Coyote Wall & Labyrinth Wildflower Hike - Class B
Explore the sunny side of the gorge on a basalt ridge with beautiful views,
and expansive wildflower filled meadows. The Coyote Wall is a 200 foot sheer
outcrop created as a result of the ancient Missoula Ice Age Floods 10,000
years ago, which formed the Columbia Gorge as we know it today. Bring lunch,
snacks, water. Poison oak is common in this area. Drive 140 miles roundtrip.
Hiking approximately 8 miles with 1950 feet elevation gain.

April 11 (Thu) Adventures & Travels: SE Turkey
Come join us as Nancy Panitch shares photos from her adventure in Southeast
Turkey. In addition to information about several cities, you will learn about
her homestay with a family, her visit to Gobekli Tepe (the oldest religious
structure in the world), and her lunch with a nomadic tribe. Remember this
month’s A&T is not on the normal 3rd Thursday; it’s on the 2nd Thursday instead.

April 13 (Sat) Willamette Valley Bike Ride - Class B
The basic ride is a 25 mile loop near Champoeg State Park using level country
roads in the Willamette Valley, with a longer option for 10-20 additional
miles available for interested riders. Register with leader via e-mail by
April 11 indicating which option you are interested in, as well as carpool
offers or requests. Exact route and starting point will be set on April 12
in response to e-mails received.

April 21 (Sun) Lacamas Park Hike - Class A
With a little luck Camas flowers will be blooming. Celebrate Earth Day with
wildflowers, a little waterfall, a lake and finish by hiking along a river.
This easy going hike loops 4.5 to 5 miles with 300 to 400 feet elevation
gain. Trailhead parking permit may be needed by drivers. Round trip drive
about 40 miles.

Hike 4.6 miles with 1500 feet elevation gain. Drive 50 miles round trip.

Apr 28 (Sun) Monster Cookie Bike Ride - Class B/C
This annual ride is a metric century (62 miles) with the Salem Bike Club
from the State Capital to Champoeg for lunch, then back to Salem. Get forms
from local bike shops or the Internet, www.salembicycleclub.org. A shorter
route may be possible.

Apr 30 (Tue) "Last Tues Bike Ramble" - Class A
They have returned! Join us for our First of the year "Last Tuesday" Bike
Ramble. It's an entertaining evening of peddling, socializing and fun stops
on a lazy last Tuesday of the month. We meet at the Oaks Pioneer Church by
the Sellwood Bridge. We will be riding about 15 miles and the ride will take
approximately two hours.
