Week-1

March 2-3 (Sat-Sun) Tyee Lodge Open

Spend a quiet weekend in the snow. Lodge will open Saturday morning at 9:30a.m. and remain open until 3pm Sunday. Dinner Saturday and breakfast Sunday will be servved. Gluten free options will be available.

March 3 (Sun) Triple Falls Hike – Class A

We will pass behind Horsetail Falls continuing on to marvel at Oneonta gorge then hike up to Triple Falls for lunch. Hike 4.5 miles with 1000 feet of elevation gain. Bring your lunch, water, and dress for the weather. Drive about 60 miles round trip. Trailhead parking permit may be needed for drivers.

March 6 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, usually in Forest Park, then lunch at a nearby cafe. If you would like to know the distance or difficulty of the hike, call the leader.
Depart: 9:30 AM from Wallace Park between NW 25th and 26th on NW Raleigh St.

March 9-10 (Sat-Sun) Tyee Open

The lodge will be open! We will coordinate a potluck dinner for Saturday evening and I will cook breakfast on Sunday morning. I will need to close the lodge by noon on Sunday.

March 13 (Wed) Morning Hike – Class A/B

We hike 4 to 6 miles, for 2 to 4 hours, usually in Forest Park, then lunch at a nearby cafe. If you would like to know the distance or difficulty of the hike, call the leader.

March 16 (Sat) Hike Klickitat Rail Trail - Class B

Hike one way with a car shuttle. We hike part of a 31 mile trail along an old railroad corridor between Lyle and Goldendale, WA. Explore remote Swale Canyon. It may be early for wildflowers, but there are carved gorges, geologic formations and rolling oak and pine forests, all on the sunny side of the Cascades. Hike 12.4 miles with 980 feet elevation loss. Driving distance 140 miles round trip. Hood River bridge toll: $1 per car. Bring: 10 essentials, lunch, snacks, water. Long sleeved shirts and long pants recommended due to the possibility of ticks.

Mar 21 (Thu) Adventures & Travels: Australia

Join us for a fun adventure exploring the Land Down Under, with Lisa Osburn! Visit Perth, Augusta, Sydney, and some of their surrounding areas. There was much fun to be had in and out of the cities over the 2011-2012 holidays!
7:00pm Refreshments, 7:30pm Slideshow. Rose Villa Fellowship Hall, 13505 SE River Rd, Milwaukie.

March 23 (Sat) First Aid class - Rose Villa

We have a day of first aid training March 23rd. Included will be "When Help Is Delayed First Aid" plus CPR plus AED defibrillator training.

March 23 (Sat) Nesika Lodge Hike - Class B

Hike to the club's beautiful lodge above Multnomah Falls. For non-members this hike and lodge visit qualifies towards membership. Boot traction devices and trekking poles highly recommended. Check our Cold Weather Guideline for Trips on our Hiking page. Bring lunch to enjoy in front of the huge fireplace. Hike 8 miles round trip with an elevation gain of approximately 1800 feet.
Depart: 8:30 AM from Gateway Park & Ride or 9:15 AM at the restroom/shelter at Multnomah Falls Lodge. please RSVP to the leader.

March 22-24 (Fri-Sun) Nesika Weekend for Spring Cleaning

Free Lodging for help with spring cleaning. Bring your own food for potluck. Come and enjoy a weekend at Nesika. We will ensure road is cleared, so bring your chain saws and brushing equiptment. Bring gloves. We will vinegar clean all the mattresses, vaccum and mop the dorms. We will clean out the food cupboards and prepare the lodge for the first work trip in April.
