May 18-20 (Fri-Sun) Nesika Work trip

We have received a special access permit to allow us access for our work trips this summer. We are entering the closed area and there are rules. See the restrictions here.
The summary is you must be registered and go in and out as part of the group, arriving Friday or Saturday morning and leaving Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon.
The road past the green gate is narrow and only high clearance cars with four wheel drive are able to drive in. You may need to park at the Green gate and hike in from there. Be prepared.
We may not yet have power, or a tractor at the May work trip. We will need to limit this work trip to 25 people who are needed to help the cook, clean up the fire debris, cut, split and haul wood. We will be providing masks to work in the ash. Please bring leather gloves to protect your hands from broken glass. No children please.
Shower is not yet working because of low water pressure till we get our new water tank in, hopefully later this summer. Sponge baths are possible.
You will need sleeping bag, bed pad, tent (optional), gloves, clothes that can get dirty. Sleeping space will be tight. Only the Main lodge reamains for inside sleeping. People are encouraged to bring tents if possible.
Our wood supply is extremely low for running the wood stove. If you have some dry stove wood you could bring to Nesika in a high clearance four wheel drive please let us know.
Almost all the equipment we had at the lodge is gone. We will need to replace all the tools and equipment we had at the lodge and donations would be welcome. Our immediate need is for splitting mauls, wedges and axes.
Sign up On Meetup (Link comming soon) and put yourself on the wait list so we can communicate with you to see where you want to work and when you want to come in. This is necessary. We will try to bring everyone who wants to come in and work.
