Host Tyee

Winter is upon us and are are looking for people to host Tyee lodge during the winter weekends. Snow is already here, so claim your weekend before it is gone.
contact the Tyee winter coordinator Nathan Barton at TyeeWinter@trailsclub.org . to request a weekend.

TCO Address Change

We have had the change the official Trails club address again. The location of our PO box had a fire that eliminated the PO box loction, requiring us to get a new box elsewhere.
The new club address is:
Trails Club of Oregon
PO Box 67095
Portland, OR 97268

Larch Mountain Trail

USFS has examined and photographed the Larch Mountain Trail as far as Wahkeena Trail. It looks pretty trashed. See the reports via the links below.

Dues Structure Change

At the 2017 annual meeting the membership voted to simplify the club dues structure by eliminating the reduce rate for additional family members and those over 65.
We also established a charge of $25 to receive a paper Blazer by mail, to offset production costs. To clear up any confusion:

  • Life and Golden members still pay no dues.
  • All Regular members pay the same dues of $50 / year
  • Junior members pay $5 / year

All members are encouraged to send in a Dues form either by mail or via e-mail.
A downloadable version of the 2018 dues form is available here.
This is a fill-able form which can be downloaded, filled in on your computer, then e-mailed or printed and mailed with your dues check.
Memebers can also pay dues on-line via PayPal here.

Paper Trail Blazer Phase Out

As of the beginning of 2018 there is a subscription fee for a paper Trail Blazer. During the first part of the year we have been making the transistion, continuing paper Blazers to those that requested them in 2017 until the dues cycle is complete. As of the May edition only those that have paid for paper will continue to receive a paper Blazer by UI mail.

If you think you should be getting a paper copy and are not, or to request a paper Blazer, please send an e-mail to: membership@trailsclub.org .
Please include your name and a request to receive a paper Blazer (start by clicking the link).
A paper Blazer subscription is $25 / yr.

Nesika Status

The road to Nesika is closed until further notice due to the Eagle Creek fire.
We have a special access permit for work trips, but only those registered for the trip can enter the area and only at specific times. See work trip events on the monthly pages for details.

Reminder: Access is from Larch Mt. Road only due to impassable damage to lower Palmer mill road.

Parking Safety Reminder

We advise hikers, Skiers, and Snowshoers to carefully secure their cars while parking at our Park and Ride locations and at trail heads before hikes. Leave your car empty looking and uninviting.
